International Council of Chemical Organizations (ICCA) Responsible Care 2021 Status Report

In December 2021, the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) published its ICCA Responsible Care Leadership Group’s (RCLG) 2021 Status Report.

The report presents:

 

  • ICCA's partnership with key stakeholders at the international level, incl. with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), to improve the sound management of chemicals through the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM);
  • The contribution of the chemical industry in the fight against COVID-19, which demonstrates industry resilience through changes in production activities to produce products needed for medical care - from disinfectants, pharmaceuticals and biocides to personal protective gear;
  • The activities of the global chemical industry to stimulate and accelerate progress towards the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
  • ICCA's capacity building activities in the implementation of Responsible Care on a global scale;
  • The Responsible Care Global Charter and the process of reporting progress through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
