Cefic issued an update of the guidance document “EU Funding Sources for Research and Innovation” which aim is to help companies identify relevant funding sources.

It will allow you to match a specific research area at a certain technological development level with the more adequate funding instrument. Several R&I programmes and instruments in Europe provide funds for the development of projects covering all Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) from emerging technologies to demonstration and first-in-kind units.

The instruments are categorised as:

• “Horizon Europe Instruments”
• “Other European Instruments”, and
• “Instruments Supported by Member States”.
