The project is being implemented by the Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of the Bulgarian Business (BIA), funded by the Operational Programme "Human Resources Development" 2007-2013.

Total Amount of the non-recourse finance: 8 902 959 BGN. Duration: 2009 –2013.

The Steering Committee of the BCCI at its meeting held on May 12, 2011 took a decision for the participation of the BCCI in the project "Development and implementation of an information system for assessing the competence of the workforce in sectors and regions".

The project will cover the three economic activities of the chemical industry, in accordance to CEA 2008:
19.2 Manufacture of refined petroleum products
20 Manufacture of chemical products
22 Manufacture of rubber and plastic products

For that purpose cooperation agreement between the BIA and BCCI was signed.

Selection of pilot enterprises to participate in the project was made and a sector analysis is being performed.

Sector Advisory Board was established on December 1, 2011 to assess the competence of the workforce in the chemical industry.

Within the project, on 30.11.11 and 01.12.11 a National Round Table on the competence of the workforce was held in Borovets, attended by over 90 representatives of the newly established Sector Advisory Boards, Regional Centers for workforce competence assessment and the National Council for workforce competence assessment. Representatives of the pilot enterprises, as well as experts involved in the development of the basic analytical, conceptual and methodological project documentation also participated in the forum.
