On March 1 Cefic Digital Dialogue „Defining Europe's ‘essential’ chemicals for society: what is the goal and what is at stake?“ was held with speakers representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Consumers' Organization (BEUC), Cefic, and the academic community.

The main topics for discussion were what is the final goal when looking at 'essential societal use'of chemicals, the involvement of society in the process, how a common understanding can be reached that leads to better informed decision-making and more.

Academic research in the field was also presented.
